With your support, we’re working to make every stay lighter on the planet and stronger for our community. From our electric colleague minibus to recycling cooking oil and our Give and Grow meeting package, every small step adds up to something much greater.
Climate
Our electric minibus helps colleagues get to work with a smaller carbon footprint, while water from our boreholes fills the glass bottles in your room, cutting plastic without compromising freshness.
Around the Hotel, cooking oil, cardboard and paper all get a second life, rainwater keeps the planters green, and low-energy bulbs quietly save energy.
Along the way, we’ve been delighted to be recognised with a Silver EcoSmart Award from Greengage.
Our Farm
Just 2 miles away on our Cumbrian upland farm, where our journey began, nearly 3,000 trees will form wildlife corridors.
Peatlands are being rewetted, hay meadows restored, and diverse swards support soil and animal health. Our livestock move across herbal leys, letting grass and soil recover, keeping the animals healthy, and the landscape thriving.
Community
We’re proud to support Growing Well, a mental health charity based right here at Tebay Northbound, running a clinically-governed recovery programme.
Through growing plants and produce, growers find routine, connection, and space to care for their mental wellbeing. They often supply our Restaurant with fresh, seasonal vegetables and salads, all nurtured less than 300 metres from our Kitchen.
Through initiatives like our Give and Grow meeting package and guest contributions, we’re pleased to help their vital work continue to thrive.
